The room was super clean and the staff was amazing. The only small complaint is that the hot water seems to be turned off at night. You can't beat the location. If you're looking for a comfortable authentic Mérida experience, this is the place to go. :)

Overall good experience. Rooms are fairly spacious and very clean but there is quite a bit of music that can be heard from nearby bars until late, that's not unique to this hotel though! Nowhere to make a hot drink in room or lobby which was disappointing. 10min walk to main plaza or 5mins to a range of bars and restaurants. Its a very safe and walkable area. Beds were a little squeaky but comfy. Great hot water and pressure - rarely in Mexico! Nice lobby area and pool but no seating around it to relax. This could be improved so people use the pool. Overall a good value, and local feeling option.

Stunning small hotel with amazing art and a great pool that is much deeper then most in Mexico. Beds are comfortable and the ac was perfect. No hot water though. Staff was very helpful and it's close to the main plaza

Stayed for 6 nights during my time in Merida. It has good location, everything is at walking distance, the hotel itself is pretty well maintained, and while it's a bit worn out, you have to consider the price of the place. This is no luxury hotel but for those who want their own room and private bathroom without breaking a bank. this is good option to choose. Nothing to complain about.

Location is the best obviously, in the middle of downtown, everything is walkable. Room was super spacious, clean, ac and tv working. Wifi per room was super good, service was ok but I think not everyone speaks English but its ok enough to help you. The only bad thing for us was that there weren't too many parking places inside the hotel so you have to ask for a spot in another terrain like one block away but it's not big deal.

We stayed here at Hotel Santa Maria for 15 days this month after staying in Merida in April/May for 20 days at a different hotel. We had a wonderful experience. The staff is 100 percent. Our room was kept spotless by Yamila (some days we told her everything was fine and we didn't need her to do anything. Our biggest surprise came in the second week when we found a towel animal on our bed! We cruise and love our towel animals, so in the end we had three animalitas! We enjoyed the openness of this old colonial building, the sitting areas around the porticos, the lovely gardens and of course, the pool! The location of this hotel is convenient and within walking distance of all the barrios (neighborhoods) where you can go dancing, listen to music, eat, and/or watch a show! On an average, we explored 6-7 miles per day. The value in this stay is exceptional and we would definitely come back here in the future! Muchas gracias!

This sweet hotel over-delivered on our expectations. The single star you'll see on overall hotel ratings is deceptive. While there is no elevator, and the rooms aren't fancy, the staff are lovely and welcoming, the common areas are beautiful and also welcoming, including a pool, the rooms are clean and offer internet and television, air conditioning, an iron, nice toiletries, and comfortable bedding. Plus free secure parking. It is very close to one of the most varied and special variety of restaurants, walkable to the city center. Car or bus ride to Mayan ruins, Celestune BioPreserve & Gulf coast (each within an hour's travel by car.) Our group was 2 couples, 70 year olds from Chicago. We all agree this one of the best choices we made for our vacation. We stayed the last week of February 2024. Perfect warm/hot weather.

One of the best low cost venues i stayed in! Although the room was very humble and not that pretty, it was comfortable and clean. The common areas of the hotel are very beautiful and the staff was friendly and let us spend there a lot of time after our checkout until we take the night bus. They didn't give us a towel and we had to ask for it (we didn't pay for it). If you are on a low budget but you still need some quality it is recommended :)

This was my second stay at the hotel, and once again, the **helpful kindness of the staff** made it an exceptional experience. Their warm and attentive service truly enhances the visit. For a **three-star hotel**, it exceeds expectations in cleanliness and comfort. The rooms and bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned and replenished every day, ensuring we felt right at home. The hotel is conveniently located near all the attractions we wanted to explore in Mérida, making it easy to get around. We also appreciated that the hotel provided everything we needed, including **NFL RedZone for Sunday games**—a fantastic bonus! The attached café served **tasty baked goods and coffee**, perfect for starting our day. Overall, this hotel continues to impress, and I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Mérida.
